A Thrilling Blue Bombers Playoff Game (Nov 11[&18]/07)
Although at this point we skip ahead (one week) chronologically, this is the outfit that Amaya would wear for some Blue Bombers game days. For away games we watch the game together on tv. (In my [Kev's] defense, I would have bought her a girl's outfit except they didn't have any in her size. Oh, the things you can do to a not-yet-speaking infant.) Here she is dressed to cheer them on for their Nov. 18/07 East Division Final playoff game against Toronto (in which the Blue Bombers defeated the Toronto Argonauts 19-9 in Toronto, but in which Bombers quarterback Kevin Glenn broke his arm at the beginning of the fourth quarter).

Dad Read joined Paul, Milena and I for the game. It was MUCH warmer than the first Blue Bomber playoff game I attended - with Dad and Jeremy Read - several years ago! In fact, today we were so protected from the wind I didn't need to put my jacket on until the second half.

It was a thrilling East Division Semi-Final playoff game. With Montreal leading 22-21 in the fourth quarter, the Bombers prevented the Montreal Alouettes from getting a first down with only one yard to go (for the second time in the game!). With only four seconds left, Troy Westwood, here leaving the field after the game, and who had some difficulties this season, kicked the winning field goal! The Bombers won 24-22!

Milt Stegall waves as he leaves the field. Would this be his last football game in Winnipeg? Will he retire? (Note: For some reason at this point the scoreboard was altered slightly and it no longer reflects what it read at the end of the game.)

After the game, back at her house, Milena enjoyed holding Amaya.
