Introducing (the Newest Member of Our Family)!

Becky and I are happy to announce that we have now met Amaya Evangeline Wood face to face! She was born at 10:13am, Sat, May 19, weighing 8 lbs, 6 oz. Amaya (pronounced ah-my-ya) means 'night rain' in Japanese (and we later discovered - 'close to God' in Hebrew). It was interesting that since Becky first felt Pre-Labour at about 2am early Thurs. morning it rained that night, and the next two nights as well - even though we had the name chosen long before that. Well, I will add more about the birth later but for now will just enter this before I get back to the hospital. About the following pictures: 1st photo - minutes after being delivered - very alert and looking at people's faces!, 2nd photo - 1st bath, 3rd photo - no explanation needed, 4th photo - no explanation needed, 5th photo - our new family of 3, 6th photo - Daddy holding Amaya minutes after she was born, 7th photo - with our midwife 'He' (a Chinese name - she was great! - what more could you ask for than a person who has also been a practicing obsetrician?!).
